Peyton Play

I love Elizabeth Peyton. When I decided to settle into the arc of a blue silk blouse with couture excess, I didn’t know that I’d want to open up  Elizabeth Peyton and hope to channel that hue-magic onto a copied image from a catalog. I’m lingering for inspiration on page 179 – Sara, 2002 or maybe page 75, Piotr on Couch, 1996? So vital. The fluidity of that scarf drew me to this image and I labored over Memorial Day weekend to get a decent outline – that slouchy cool evoked the work in the book. We’ll see how it goes. I will also try to keep the cautionary specter of Isadora Duncan at bay…
